local people, which took place in the week running up to 26th May (there may be another in June) at Hanwell Library. It is worth your time seeing what she has to say about the ideas for how the Library may look in the future, and she will appreciate your input on what the library needs.
We are hoping to work with Sandra and the rest of the Council to have a closing ceremony for the library in October and as this idea takes shape we will keep you informed. We are also planning a very grand re-opening ceremony for 2013!
So Hanwell will have a rejuvenated and revitalised Library in a few months. BUT in order for it to be a success it needs the support of the local population. The more people that use the building – be it for borrowing books, research, homework, local history, reading groups, community meetings, whatever - then the better it will be and Hanwell Carnegie Library will then be able to look forward to a second century of existence with a lot of optimism.
